Today I Thought

So I've been reading this book by this blogger. I'm not gonna name names because I'm not saying things that wouldn't exactly be construed as compliments. They're not necessarily rude, just an observation. Anyway, while reading this book written by this blogger about this blogger I had a thought. My thought was this: people who run blogs are unstable. Now I don't necessarily mean this in a bad way, as here I am, writing a blog post. But inside, I'm debating whether or not I even want to be a "blogger."

It says something else about this blogger that she wrote a book. Not only a book, a memoir. People who write memoirs are pure narcissists. The only reasons someone would ever write a book entirely about themselves are that a) they regularly see a psychologist and regularly revisit insignificant memories of themselves and/or b) they are a narcissist. But hey, who this day and age isn't a narcissist? We sit on our phones, constantly updating everyone about what's going on in our lives at that exact moment so we can someone form a connection through these events that are occurring independently of one another. We're all narcissists. We think people are constantly watching and deeply care about every moment of our lives!

So this is the deep-seated conflict I have with myself over this blog, and frankly any time I ever update social media. I'm just going to crawl under a rock now.
